"The Eye" Antelope Canyon
This was inside Upper Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona, and our guide pointed out this formation as “The Eye.” Once they showed us, it was impossible not to see it.
Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon formed over thousands of years as rushing water and flash floods carved through the sandstone, creating all of those smooth curves, narrow passageways, and crazy layers of color. Depending on where the light hits, the walls can shift from deep purple and red to bright orange and gold.
Probably my favorite part about this photo though? I took it on my iPhone. Sometimes you really don’t need the fancy camera when nature is doing this much of the work.
Still one of the coolest places I’ve ever gotten to photograph and explore!
